Hi, i’m Nicole!
I’m a Certified Functional Nutrition Consultant, Foundation Training Instructor and Life Coach with a passion for empowering women and parents to take control and ownership of their well-being - and that of their family.
Everything I coach and teach took root in a personal need. Chronic conditions I had adapted to in my youth became more intensified and concerning as I approached 30. I finally got tired of leaving appointments with a piece of paper to take to the pharmacy when I barely said two words describing what I was experiencing. I began asking better questions, reading studies and using myself as a guinea pig with various dietary changes, and finally paying attention to my body and all the many factors that influenced my pain points. I sought and implemented sustainable measures that began repairing and protecting this one body I have.
From here, what began as a personal quest turned into a life mission: to show others that once the root(s) of our conditions are discovered and exposed, we can support our body’s natural ability to repair and defend in a much greater capacity than we’ve come to believe. I devoted myself to studying nutrition and the body’s systems from a functional lens and made a career shift - from Environmental Science to Holistic Wellness.
My consulting practice is dedicated to facilitating simple and sustainable changes that empower my clients to experience results and keep progressing. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’. My clients learn what works best for them where they currently are - as well as how to track, modify and scale to keep moving forward even when faced with roadblocks.
Life is not static — so our approach to health can’t be either. It’s a dynamic relationship that requires curiosity, intentional action and grace. We are not perfect, and cannot let our stumbles define us.
I teach the “why” and “how” behind everything my clients do with me, because I feel this is a huge piece of the puzzle that has been lacking for them; this is also what supports lasting change. They learn a system and process that works long-term because it addresses the root behind their pain points and engages them in developing new habit patterns that work for their unique lifestyle.
If you’re tired of ineffective quick-fixes and protocols; or being told that what you are experiencing is ‘normal’, unavoidable or just a sign of aging - you have come to the right place!
everything i coach and teach took root in a personal need.
“Hey, I get it….
Juggling work, family, school, sports, ALL the commitments - often solo. Letting my health take a back seat - even before kids. Gritting my teeth through back pain, skipping meals or grabbing fast-food, ignoring inflammatory symptoms … because in my daily haste I would take care of everyone BUT myself. “Now'“ was just never the time.
Breakfast was a double Americano with processed creamer. Lunch was snack food at my desk: full sized bags of pretzels, chips and granola bars. The day ended with cocktails - my “reward” and method to unwind after the day’s hustle.
Popping pain medication and prescriptions to ease back pain and extreme menstrual symptoms through my 20s and 30s. It’s what the doctor prescribed - scolding me for suffering when relief was “so easy.” I was told I had spinal arthritis in my back in my 20s, and that there was nothing to be done about it. It would progress, limit my mobility and be painful for the rest of my life without prescriptions and injections. Well, damn!
Pushing through normalized burn-out — body and mind. All…the…time. But I was used to it! After all - everyone else was doing the same. Hustling. Suffering silently. Adapting to chronic symptoms and pain.
BUT IS THAT WHAT I REALLY WANTED?
TO ADAPT TO A SLOW BUT STEADY DEMISE?
WAS THAT THE PRECEDENT I WANTED TO SET FOR MY CHILDREN?
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
IF WE WANT TO THRIVE VS. SIMPLY survivE,
WE HAVE TO MAKE THAT CHOICE … AND TAKE TARGETED ACTION.
Adaptation serves a purpose, but if you’re familiar with the Boiling Frog story - you know that it can also be a ticking time bomb! Did I want to just sit in the pot as the water slowly approached boiling? Do you?
For me, it took being pregnant with my first child over 10 years ago to shake myself out of the Complacency Trance and finally begin pulling myself out of the proverbial pot.
Change is a CHOICE - which had always been mine to make.
It’s always YOURS to make.
The journey doesn’t have to be made alone — I’m here to help.
